Travel to Salzburg - Historical City in Australia

Capital of the province of the same name, Salzburg, in northwest Austria, is one of Europe's most beautiful cities, both for its architecture and for its magnificent setting. It is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Salzburg - the Salt Fortress

The name Salzburg means “salt fortress.” For thousands of years, salt has been mined from the area around Salzburg. This “white gold” made Salzburg a powerful trading city. The city is famous for its baroque architecture that can be seen in the City.

Salzburg, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is dominated by churches, castles, and palaces. Its picturesque old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Beauty of Salzburg

The romantic Old Town is a compact neighborhood of narrow medieval streets and arcaded courtyards that are fun to explore, as are the spacious squares of the residential area between the Neutor and the Neugebäude districts. Salzburg enjoys special fame in the world of music as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, reflected in attractions such as the museum in his family home, various festivals showcasing his music, and even the melodies that ring out daily on the glockenspiel.
