Need to know about the SAT Test Sections

The first thing that you need to know about the test structure is SAT sections. The SAT contains 4 sections.

  • Reading
  • Writing & Language
  • Math (no use of calculators)
  • Essay (optional)

Reading Section

Reading section is based on the evidence structure. The detail of the reading section is explained here. The students will definitely find its worth.

  • 52 Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Time allowed 65 minutes 1 minute& 15 seconds for each question.
  • Passages including pairs of passages related to history, literature, social sciences and natural sciences.
  • You will have to go through the six passages in total. Four long as a single passages and two short in group form.
  • Every passage contains 10-11 questions.
  • You will also provide with the graphs and charts in this section. Carefully read them & give the answers of the required questions.

Writing And Language Section

To get the score, you need to read out every section in detail. The Writing &Language section is based on following details.

  • 44 Multiple type Questions.
  • Time allowed will be 35minutes.Eachquestion needs 48 seconds.
  • Including grammar, Vocabulary, in context and editing skills.
  • You will be given with four passages having 11questions in each. The text of the passages is underlined and some portion too. You will have to give the answers of those text.

Charts, tables or graphs are also the part. Carefully read them and answer according to the required factor using graph.

Math Section

Math is always the need of any test. The Math section in SAT includes all the concepts discuss below.

  • 58 Multiple Choice Questions broken into 20questions.No need of calculator. While for 38 questions you can use calculator to solve them. Each question needs 1minute & 20 seconds.
  • 80 Minutes are allowed. 25 minutes for no calculator questions. 55 minutes for calculator based questions.
  • Algebra I & II, geometry, and some part of trigonometry.

In 58 questions,45 are multiple choice questions while 13 are grid in .In grid-in you will have to answers the questions in your own view on grid.

Essay an optional part

Essay is the last section in SAT test. Some school required this section and some not. This will depend upon the school policy. You will be given scores on the scale of two to eight. Depend on how you will explain the argument of the author.

  • 50 minutes are given
  • Read the passage and explain in detail the argument of the author. The passage is in between 650 and 750 words. You will have to give the detail related to the argument of the author.
