Definition of Syntax
To exchange information or ideas with his audience an author uses words. The writer arranges these words to express the meanings of them. These arranged words referred to as syntax.
A Gardner first chooses his seeds, then he decides when, where and how to sow them. A teacher initially creates his notes, then he plans what to and when to teach his students. Similarly, a writer first gathers his words, and then must aim when, where and how he wants to use them in order to impress his readers. This plan-making process and its actual application, is syntax.
A syntax is also involves in grammatical practices of languager. Other considerations include:
- Sentence structure
- Punctuation usage
- Creative elements like similes and metaphors.
Why Is Syntax Important?
Behind every writing there is a reason or a purpose. This purpose can be determined by the structure of a syntax.While writing a cover letter for job the professional attitude of writing must be observed.So,it should be grammatically strong and clearly stated.
