GMAT Registration Dates

Date Information for the GMAT Exam

Since the Graduate Management Admission Test, or GMAT, is offered by appointment year-round, you won't find any registration deadlines for this exam.

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) recommends that you register 2-3 months before the test date that you prefer. However, students who choose to register through the website or over the phone can register right up until 24 hours before the test date. Keep in mind though, that test centers fill up fast, so you'll want to plan ahead to get into the test center nearest to you on your selected exam date.

Choosing a Date

The GMAC indicates that scores are sent out within three weeks of your test date. When choosing a date for your exam, you'll want to first research the application deadlines of the schools to which you plan to apply then schedule your exam to make sure your scores will be received before those deadlines.

Dates for Registration Changes

If you have to make changes to your registration, you will need to take into account the following dates.

Ex1

Online

On the GMAC website, you can find available test dates using an interactive calendar. Enter your location and it brings up available test centers. Choosing a test center takes you to a calendar that shows days on which that test center is offering the exam. Click on a date to see times in the morning and afternoon when you can take the test.

By Mail

An Appointment Scheduling Form is available on the GMAC website that you can fill out and mail. This is the only way to schedule your exam if you want to pay by money order or check. If you do pay either of these ways, you'll need to allow at least 10 days for GMAC to process your payment.

By Phone/Fax

You can also schedule your exam by calling the customer service department. A service fee may be charged to schedule your exam by phone. If you wish to schedule your exam by fax, you will need to fill out the Appointment Scheduling Form.
