The best thing for you is that the registration is online. Visit the ETS Official Website and create a My GRE account - this is the online account where you'll register for a test date and manage your scores after the test. For creating and registering you will need:

A valid photo ID. Be alert that your name in the registration form must be exactly the same as shows up on your ID. If the name on your ID is different from the name on your registration, you may not be able to take the test.
A credit or debit card to pay for the test.

The online registration system allows you to enter a range of preferred dates. You will be allotted a seat that falls in the range. Moreover; along with the test dates you’ll also choose a preferred test center from the centers available in your area. Get your seat early, since seats at popular test centers fill up fast.

Keep in mind the Application Deadline

Select a date a few weeks before the Application Deadline of your target institution for which you are applying for admission because the result of the GRE will be sent to the institution two weeks after the test date. Your My GRE Account is where you'll manage your scores and send them to schools.
