How to Write Better by Improving Your Sentence Structure

The Importance of Improving Sentence Structure

Let’s consider you have the raw material for making the cage but you are unaware that how to build it. So, how would you form a beautiful cage? Therefore, you must have knowledge that how to convert it to finished product.

So, that is the case with your essay. The reader is unknown to your ideas. He only see your final product. If it is lacking the style of his desire then he would cross it.

Why Sentence Structure Matters

There are various reasons of sentence structure importance. One of them is:

Modifier:

A word or phrase that provides description in a sentence is called modifier.

So, its wrong use would cause an error.

For Example:

'Only I hate you!'

The above sentence shows that you is the only person hated by him. So, for its correction:

'I hate only you!'

Then we have those dangling modifiers.

'To improve his communication skills, a lesson was read.'

So, it would be rectified as:

'In order to improve his communication skills, my son read a lesson.'

Now the above sentence is clear to read.

Now, the sentence fragments could also be obviated with health sentence structure as such aort of sentences are often incomplete.

'It is necessary to do exercise daily. Having a benefits.'

As a compound the sentence could be seemed correct, but on separation, what do we mean by ‘Having a benefit.'

'Having a benefits of exercise can help us remain health.'

More over avoid slipping to run-on sentence which is the joining of two or more independent clauses without the appropriate punctuation or conjunction.

The other defect caused in sentence structure is to use passive voice.

When the aim of action is given or placed in the position of subject even though they aren't doing anything then it is passive voice..

For example:

'The idol was bathed by John.'

The idol is an inanimate object. It is not performing task. The task is being performed by John.

So to make the sentence active we would write:

‘John bathed the idol.'

Let’s learn how to improve these three common errors that disturb our sentence structure.
