Register for the GMAT

To register for the GMAT online, create an account through the Graduate Management Admissions Council's website. This will require you to enter your first and last name, email address, and a password. You may also agree to receive additional information related to the test.

Once you have created an account, you can search for testing centers near you - either by address or zip code - and check out the times and dates the GMAT is being administered. Testing appointments are generally offered year-round, depending on your testing center's availability. Understand that by registering, you are agreeing to the guidelines for the exam laid out in the GMAT Handbook. Scheduling an exam can also be done by phone, mail, or fax.

The last phase of the registration process is reviewing your confirmation email to ensure the test date and location are correct and that the name matches the one on the ID you will use at the testing center.

Testing Accommodations

Test takers with disabilities can request special accommodations, including modifications to the testing time and test font. You will need to fill out the proper documentation for your disability and submit it via mail. The documentation includes an accommodations request form and an optional health disclosure authorization.

GMAT Fees

The fee to register for the GMAT is $250. Should you need to cancel your appointment, you will be refunded $80 provided you do so more than seven days prior to the test date. If you must reschedule and and do more than seven days in advance, there is a $50 fee. Rescheduling less than seven days prior to your appointment will cost you an additional $250.

The GMAT measures your analytical writing, reasoning, verbal, and math skills to determine your preparedness for a graduate business program. The GMAT's website offers study guides and online software at varying levels of cost to help you prepare.
