Ingredients :

  1. Black Pepper - ½ tsp
  2. Cumin Seeds -1 tsp
  3. Mustard Seeds - ½ tsp
  4. Asafoetida - ¼ tsp
  5. Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
  6. Dried Red Chilies - 2
  7. Curry Leaves - 4-6 Garlic, crushed - 2 cloves
  8. Tomato Juice - 1 ¼ cups , Lemon Juice - of 2 lemons
  9. Oil – 2 tbsp
  10. Water - ½ cup , Salt - to taste
  11. Fresh Coriander, chopped - to garnish

Method:

  • Heat the oil in a pan and fry the first 8 ingredients until the chilies are nearly black and the garlic is golden brown.
  • Lower the heat and pour in the tomato juice, lemon juice and water.
  • Bring to the boil then simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Season to taste with salt.
  • Pour into heated bowls, garnish with the chopped coriander if you like, and serve.
